| Before You Mail |
We can accurately inform your company on the decision to mail or not to mail a letter before we even print it. |
Step One
First we double certify your file through our dual CASS/DPV certification process, not once, but twice. |

Step Two
Next, we analyze possible matches in our proprietary database. This is service you just can’t get from our competition. This typically results in approximately 2-4% of your total list that will be deemed undeliverable as addressed.
Step Three
Now we’re ready to fix your invalid addresses. We accomplish this by running them through our priority Address Element Correction (AEC) database to fix any addresses that might be missing or have incorrect elements in the address lines. We typically correct 35% and add them to our CASS/DPV accepted file. |
Step Four
Finally, we will enhance the names associated with the addresses in your file by utilizing the FOCUS1 systemized approach to the National Change of Address (NCOA) system.
Our NCOA system gives you two advantages. First, it locates people who have recently moved and updates your database to reflect that new information. Second, it determines if your letter will reach the correct destination and blocks letters that absolutely will not reach the debtor.
The NCOA database contains more than just all the change of address forms filled out by people who have moved. There are several subsets of instructions or footnotes that result in categorizing your letters to determine if they will reach the debtor or identify a new address. Our |

technology team, in conjunction with the USPS, has developed a system that refines that process for maximum accuracy in delivering your letters.
Our proprietary system requires four separate NCOA runs, two for 1-18 months, and two for 19-48 months. Why so many? Because we know that only about 66% of all NCOA findings occur in the first 18 months. The remaining 34% are spread out across the remaining 30 months. Thanks to our technologically advanced systems, we can accomplish all this and receive our return data in less than four hours. |
Step Five
As good as it is, the NCOA database is subject to an approximate two week update delay. A lot can happen in two weeks, but FOCUS1 has you covered. Our Address Change Service (ACS) will cover that gap in time. If a debtor recently moved and the National database has not yet been updated, ACS will enable that letter to be forwarded to the new address instead of coming back as return mail. |

| After You Mail |
One of the greatest benefits to a collection agency is to remove excuses as to why a debtor can not pay them. How many times have your agents heard the debtor’s first line of defense, “I never received your letter.” Now you can utilize our Proof of Mailing (POM) service to overcome that first hurdle.
Our POM service means that while your agent has the debtor on the phone, your agent will see a copy of the actual letter that was printed and mailed to debtor, including all of the mailing verification. With the click of a button you can re-order that specific letter and the debtor will have it in their hands in 72 hours. But most importantly, you will have the confidence of knowing that the letter was delivered.
